Degree Overview:
This Award in Coaching and Mentoring is designed to equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to effectively work towards becoming a coach or mentor. The program focuses on understanding the role of a mentor or coach in the workplace and developing practical skills for effective coaching and mentoring.
Objectives:
Learners will gain the ability to:
- Critically assess and analyze the concept of 'Coaching' and discuss the role of a manager as a coach.
- Examine the links between change and coaching.
- Reflect on the benefits of effective goal setting.
- Demonstrate critical understanding of the role of coaching in relation to performance enhancement, employee motivation, and team development.
- Critically assess and analyze the challenges and benefits of coaching and mentoring.
- Critically reflect on the qualities of a good leader and the challenges they face.
Assessment:
The award is assessed through a single assignment.
Teaching:
- Delivery: Face-to-face and work-based learning.
- Language: English.
- Location: Central Mediterranean Business School, The Brewhouse, Mdina Road, Zone 2, Central Business District, Birkirkara CBD 2010, Malta.

Entry Requirements:
- Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field: This means that applicants must have a diploma that is recognized as being equivalent to Level 4 on the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF). The diploma must be in a field that is relevant to the Award in Coaching and Mentoring.
- Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates: Applicants must have a Matriculation certificate, which is a qualification awarded by the University of Malta, with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates.
- Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better: Applicants must have Matsec certificates, which are qualifications awarded by the Malta Qualifications Council, with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better.
- Relevant work experience: Applicants may be considered for admission if they have relevant work experience, even if they do not meet the other entry requirements.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5: This means that applicants who are not native English speakers must provide evidence of their English proficiency. They can do this by providing a certificate from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or by achieving a score of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
