  • For applicants from the United States:
  • A bachelor's degree from an American university is required.
  • A GPA of at least 3.0 is preferred, but a GPA of 2.8 may be considered on a case-by-case basis for some courses.
  • For other international applicants:
  • A 2:1 honours degree, or above, or equivalent is normally required.
  • The degree should be in a related subject, such as mathematics, engineering or physical sciences.
  • Applicants with a 2:2 honours degree will be considered on an individual basis.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • For international applicants who are not from a majority English speaking country:
  • Evidence of English language proficiency is required.
  • The following tests are accepted:
  • IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no component below 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT: 88 overall, with minimum scores of listening 17, writing 17, reading 17, and speaking 19
  • Duolingo English Test: 120 overall, with no component below 95
  • Pearson PTE Academic: 61 overall, with no component below 59
  • LanguageCert Academic: 70 overall, with no skill below 60
  • PSI Skills for English: B2 Pass with Merit overall and no band below B2 Pass

  • International applicants who do not meet the minimum required standard of English language can complete one of the University's Pre-Sessional English courses to achieve the required level.
