The GradDip Media & International Conflict is a graduate program that provides a deep understanding of the cultural and political aspects of media in international conflicts. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students develop critical thinking and communication skills, analyze the interplay between media, war, conflict, and security, and gain practical experience through internships. The program aims to prepare graduates for careers in academia, research, or related fields.

Key Objectives:

  • Communication: Students will develop the ability to communicate effectively in interdisciplinary academic language about the cultural and political dimensions of media responses to international conflicts, with a focus on contemporary events.
  • Application: Students will gain the skills to apply their knowledge in various professional settings or pursue further studies.
  • Communication Skills: Students will enhance their written and public speaking communication skills, targeting both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Understanding: Students will develop a sophisticated understanding of the ways in which media interact with war, conflict, and security in international contexts.
  • Interdisciplinary Approach: Students will gain an understanding of interdisciplinary modes of study.
  • Independent Learning: Students will acquire skills that enable them to independently accumulate further knowledge in this or other subjects.

  • Consideration may be given to students with a lower GPA, but they may require an interview and additional materials. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency (IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no less than 6 in each element, or equivalent).
