The PhD in Translation is a research-based program that welcomes applications from appropriately qualified individuals interested in any area within the field of Translation and related areas, including comparative projects. The program specializes in Chinese, French, German, and Spanish languages. While predominantly research-focused, the program provides access to taught courses, including the core module 'Research Skills for Modern Linguists', to enhance research skills and broader knowledge beyond the thesis focus. This also allows for career development skill-building. PhD students are supported by two supervisors and are integrated into the department's research culture. Participation in postgraduate seminars and representation on relevant departmental committees is expected.
