Degree Overview:
Urban Ecology is one of the fastest-growing subfields of ecology. The program prepares students for a wide range of career paths – from education and environmental consulting to conservation and natural resource management. Teaching:
Students will learn from – and work alongside – expert faculty scholars who have a wide range of research interests, from microbiology and cell biology to marine and freshwater biology. The program benefits from well-equipped biology research labs, an electron microscopy facility, and a state-licensed animal care facility housed in the same building as the biology department. The Biology Seminar Series brings noted scientists to Hofstra for in-depth discussions of their work. Students will have opportunities to ask questions and to meet these accomplished scholars.
