Cryptography: Terminology, secret key and public-key systems, authentication, OTAR.
GSM: 1G and 2G cellular radio systems.
GPRS and EDGE: Enhancements to GSM.
4G systems and signalling, 5G developments.
HF systems.
Software Defined Radio.
Satellite communications.
GPS.
Military Communications Systems.

Prior knowledge and understanding of the main areas covered in the Communication Principles module are required.

International Overseas Students:

Applicants must hold a first or second class honours degree in a relevant subject, such as Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
An IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent is required for non-native English speakers.
Prior knowledge and understanding of the main areas covered in the Communication Principles module are required.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

EU Home Students: No specific language proficiency requirement.
International Overseas Students: An IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent is required for non-native English speakers.

Additional Information:
