Objectives: The Human Geography BSc program aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the following:

Program Description: This three-year full-time program emphasizes a deep dive into human geography, exploring its various dimensions and applications. Students engage in:

  • Participation in an optional and subsidized field study visit to immerse in real-world case studies and research

Outline:


Program Content and Structure: The program consists of three academic years, each comprising 120 credits.

  • Year One: Introductory year focusing on foundational concepts and core skills development, laying a strong basis for further study.
  • Year Two: Building on year one knowledge, delving deeper into geographical history, cultural, social, political, economic, and environmental subfields.
  • Year Three: Exploration of the broader relevance of geography to policy and society.
  • Completion of a research dissertation and engagement with various optional modules to specialize in chosen areas.

Course Schedule: Typically, students take six modules per year, receiving 12 hours of guided study weekly. Each module typically carries a weight of 20 credits, with the final year dissertation worth 40 credits. Fees for home status

We are currently awaiting confirmation on tuition fees for the 2025/26 academic year. The University reserves the right to increase tuition fees in the second and subsequent years of a course as permitted by law or Welsh Government policy. Where applicable we will notify you of any change in tuition fee by the end of June in the academic year before the one in which the fee will increase.

Additional costs

The year 2 residential field study experience is fully subsidised. The final year field-study visits are currently subsidised (approximately two thirds of the cost) by the School, but you will be responsible for the remaining costs. You should expect to cover the costs of local travel and subsistence on all field study visits.
