This PhD program focuses on cross-modal learning for information retrieval, exploring methods for learning entity relations in cross-modal spaces and identifying limitations of existing algorithms. It also investigates bias in cross-modal transfer learning and proposes strategies for lifelong learning and forgetting.

• Identifying the limitations of existing cross-modal retrieval algorithms.
• Investigating bias in cross-modal transfer learning and developing strategies for detecting and mitigating bias.
• Development of a tool for the search, and retrieval of multi-modal data.
The tool will have query expansion and relevance feedback capabilities.

UK fee: £4,712 Full-time degree per annum International fee: £26,000 Full-time degree per annum University fees and charges can be paid in advance and there are several methods of payment, including online payments and payment by instalment. Fees are reviewed annually and are likely to increase to take into account inflationary pressures.
