Degree Overview:

Outline:


Year 1:

  • Core modules: Fundamentals of Aviation, Aviation and the Environment, Fundamentals of Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality, Global Tourism, Marketing and Business for the Service Sector, Study Skills for the Service Sector.
  • Optional modules: Cultural Tourism, Festivals and Events, or Branding for the Service Sector.

Year 2:

  • Core modules: Aviation, Safety and Security, Consultancy for the Visitor Economy, Current Issues in Tourism and Hospitality, Research Methods for the Service Sector.
  • Choose two of the following optional modules: Digital Technologies in the Visitor Economy, Exploring Human Resource Management in the Service Sector, or Tourism Fieldwork 2.
  • Optional 48-week placement opportunity in hospitality, events, aviation, or tourism sectors.

Final Year:

  • Core modules: Airline and Airport Commercial Operations, Risk and Crisis Management for Tourism and Aviation.
  • Choose 80 credits from the following optional modules: Digital Technologies in the Visitor Economy, Gastronomy, Leadership and Management for the Service Sector, Professional Development for the Service Sector, Service Quality, Strategic Planning for Tourism and Leisure, Tourism and Aviation Major Project, or Urban Tourism.

Assessment:

Assessments may comprise essays, presentations, project work, group assignments, guest lectures, seminar contributions, industry-based case studies, and potential field work projects.


Teaching:

Teaching methodology includes lectures, seminars, field visits, individual and group coursework, presentations, tutorials, research projects, and guest lectures from industry professionals. Additionally, the program prioritizes personalized faculty support.

  • The St Peter's Library houses 31,000 business-related books and extensive online journals, with support from a dedicated business and tourism librarian.
  • The program encourages real-world experiences through guest lectures, field trips, and an optional paid placement year.
  • A top-up entry option exists for individuals with an HND or foundation degree, allowing them to complete the program in one year of full-time study.
  • For international students, a discounted fee of £10,250 applies after a £5,750 scholarship is subtracted from the original price of £16,000.

Annual, full-time fees are: £9,250 if you're from the UK/Europe £16,000 if you're an international student (EU nationals will receive a £5,750 scholarship to reduce their fee to £10,250)
