This year-long media program provides hands-on training in all aspects of radio and television production, including news, lifestyle, sports, and finance. Taught by industry professionals in professional studios, the program prepares students for careers as multi-platform content creators, journalists, news readers, radio hosts, producers, and more.

This year-long program covers all facets of the media landscape. You’ll create radio and television shows, covering news, lifestyle, sports, and finance. Based in our Media Centre, our classrooms are professional, industry-standard studios, and are available to you 24/7. Developing skills as both on-camera and radio presenters, you’ll learn the behind the scenes in the world of producing, directing and studio craft- everything needed to produce programmes and content across all genres.


Teaching:

Created and taught by industry professionals, this course is practical and prepares students for all aspects of radio and television presentation and production. Backed by industry, it has an impressive number of graduates working as multi-platform content creators, world-wide.

Entry requirements:

All applicants are required to attend an audition, and attend an interview. Accommodations can be made for students located outside WA. Additionally applicants must submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words, resume and photograph with their application.Students are strongly advised to attend a personalised information session about the course with the coordinator. To organise this, please contact ECU's Future Students team on futurestudy@ecu.edu.au. Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

Language proficiency requirements:

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs defined on the English Proficiency Bands page.
