Degree Overview:

This postgraduate diploma program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in various fields related to development and peacebuilding in conflict or post-conflict environments. Program Description:

• The program integrates negotiation skills with analysis of broader conflict and development issues.
• It explores the role of government, business, and civil society in participatory peace processes.
• It addresses issues related to gender, conflict, racism, and human rights.
• It examines the security concerns arising from poverty, exploitation, and global economic crises.

Outline:

• The program consists of 60 ECTS credits.
• Learners must complete four compulsory modules (35 credits):
• Introduction to Peace Processes and Conflict Intervention
• Theory and Practice of Mediation, Negotiation and Dialogue in Peace-building
• Conflict, Development and Security
• Research Methods
• Learners choose one of the following modules (10 credits):
• Introduction to Development Theory and Practice
• Contemporary Global Issues, Challenges and Responses
• Learners select elective modules (15 credits) from areas such as participatory development and leadership, environment and development, managing development organizations, and gender, identity and inclusion.
