The Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) is a premier research institute established in 1987 by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. CIBA serves as the nodal agency for the development of brackishwater aquaculture in India. Its headquarters are located in Chennai, with an experimental field station at Muttukadu (MES), about 30 km south of Chennai.
