Overview:
Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU) is a public university established in Patna, Bihar, India. It was formed in 2016 through an act of the Bihar State Legislature and became operational in 2017. BASU was carved out of the Bihar Agricultural University, inheriting two of its constituent colleges: Bihar Veterinary College and Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology. A new College of Fisheries was established in 2018. The university focuses on research and outreach in animal sciences, including veterinary science, dairy technology, and fisheries.
