The University of Westminster was founded in 1838 as the Royal Polytechnic Institution, before receiving a royal charter a year later. It became a university in 1992 and adopted its current name. Its main campus is on Regent Street, with other campuses in Fitzrovia, Marylebone and Harrow and it runs a university in Uzbekistan.
It has around 20,000 students including international students from more than 169 different countries. The University of Westminster is ranked in the top 700 global universities in the QS World University Rankings. It’s also in the top 100 UK universities in The Guardian’s University Guide and the Complete University Guide.
Employability
The University of Westminster has strong links with businesses and professional organisations in London and across the UK. The majority of its courses have professional accreditations and programmes and its Careers and Employability Service works with an ever-growing network of over 3,000 companies to provide work placement opportunities. Students can access 20-minute consultations with a Careers Consultant for feedback on CVs, application forms, interviews, etc. There are also up to four 45-minute consultations for guidance on employability, career paths, etc. Support is available for up to three years after graduation, including employer workshops.Facilities
