Campus life

Furtwangen University is not only the highest university in Germany geographically, in prestigious rankings students and businesses have also voted us one of the top educational institutions in Germany. Our 9 faculties offer a broad range of practical and future-oriented degree programmes across 3 campuses — Furtwangen, Schwenningen and Tuttlingen. The friendly and supportive HFU atmosphere which is our trademark, enables our students to settle into academic life quickly and to concentrate fully on their studies. Classes are small allowing personal contact with teaching staff.

Sports facilities

There is a great sense of community in Furtwangen. Being small makes it easier to meet other people, whether it’s in the common room of the student halls of residence, at the swimming pool or the gym, or at student parties or events such as the International Festival.

Bikes can be used for commuting as well as for sport. They are great for getting your system going again after a hard day of lectures. Our students and staff have the advantage of being able to enjoy the wonderful countryside of the Black Forest region and the area around the source of the Danube. So there are plenty of good reasons to leave the car at home, forget the bus and just use your own legs.
