Library services

Semmelweis University’s Central Library - together with its library units - constitutes one of the largest and most modern medical special collections in Hungary. The Library is currently available in two locations: the Basic Medical Science Centre Branch and the Central Branch located at Mikszáth Kálmán tér 5.

Medical services

Since its foundation in 1769, Semmelweis University has paid special attention to the continuous development and expansion of its health care services. As a result, the University has grown into one of the largest health care institutions in Hungary today handling 2.5 million cases each year. 

Student Life

Sports facilities

Semmelweis University offers a wide range of sporting opportunities for students. Physical education classes are compulsory at most faculties during the first four semesters. The various training sessions (water polo, volleyball, basketball, handball) and optional sports activities (judo, aerobics, yoga, tennis, frisbee, zumba) further add to the variety of options.
