Program Outline

The curriculum is designed to equip students with diverse skills for various employment opportunities. The department offers a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Construction & Building Engineering, and postgraduate degrees (M.Eng., M.Sc., and Ph.D.) in Construction & Building Engineering. The program's objectives are to prepare graduates for careers in construction and project management, design, and environmental engineering.


Careers:

Graduates of the Construction & Building Engineering program can pursue careers in:

  • Construction & Project Management: Planning and managing the construction of structures (roads, railroads, airports, bridges, dams, water treatment plants, etc.
  • Graduates will possess knowledge in cost estimation, contract design, communication, safety requirements, project planning, project management, and construction accounting.
  • Design: Designing structures, selecting construction materials, designing earthworks and foundations, planning and managing transportation modes, designing freshwater supply systems, designing coastal preservation structures, and planning and constructing ports and their facilities.
