The Higher FIATA Diploma in Supply Chain Management (HFDSCM) is a joint program between the College of International Transport and Logistics (CITL) at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), and the Egyptian International Freight Forwarding & Logistics Association (EIFFLA). Outline:

The HFDSCM program comprises 245 hours, with each of the seven modules lasting 35 hours. Classes are held every other weekend (Friday and Saturday) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the total program duration being nine months. The program is offered in Alexandria and Cairo. The modules are:

  • Supply Chain Management: Covers the fundamentals of supply chain management, differentiating it from logistics, exploring various strategies and their applications, applying cost-service trade-offs, solving supply chain challenges, and identifying security issues.
  • International Transportation Management: Focuses on the role of trade and agreements in international transportation, differentiating transportation modes, the role of intermediaries, applying trade-offs in global supply chains, choosing optimal transportation modes (including intermodal and multimodal), transportation safety and security, and the implications of DG and IMDG on transportation.
  • Global Purchasing: Covers global procurement management, developing strategic global procurement organizational structures, devising strategies for appointing, evaluating, developing, and maintaining strategic suppliers, and adopting world-class management information systems.
  • Financial Management: Explores the scope and role of financial management in meeting organizational objectives, interpreting financial statements, computing working capital, preparing business plans, appraising funding sources, and understanding financial management's role in organizational restructuring and growth.
