Degree Overview:
The B.A. in Wellness Management prepares students to support, train, and encourage others in pursuing well-being across all dimensions of life (social, physical, emotional, occupational, intellectual, environmental, and spiritual). The program focuses on managing and facilitating wellness programs for individuals and groups in worksite, healthcare, and community settings. Students must earn a minor from a selected list of approved minors, including business, environmental planning and sustainability, sport psychology, nutrition, and communications. These minors support the professional competencies identified for the major. The program is recommended for "doers, helpers, and persuaders."
Careers:
Graduates of the Wellness Management program are prepared for careers as Wellness Coordinators and Wellness Managers. The program also prepares students for careers in Occupational Therapy. Alumni testimonials highlight the program's ability to blend health promotion classes and exercise science, enabling graduates to successfully incorporate their knowledge into their businesses. One alumna, Robyn K. '05, uses her Rowan education to teach the next generation of health professionals. The program is offered in the Spring and Fall terms for international students.
