The course is based on a Programme of Study encompassing:
- The vocational option itself (City & Guilds Certificate in Introduction to the Hospitality Industry)

- Maths and English (included if learners haven't achieved a GCSE grade 4 or above)

- Work Experience (30 hours) Learners will study three core Employability units alongside developing catering and hospitality skills. The program includes practical work where learners prepare and cook dishes demonstrated to them, working in a professional kitchen environment and developing individual skills. Weekly placements provide opportunities to develop customer service, teamwork, and money-handling skills. Trips, visits, and guest speakers enrich the learning experience. Three core Practical Skills Development (PSD) units are:
