The British University in Egypt (BUE) is a private institution located in El Shorouk City, Cairo, established in September 2005. It offers a British-style education, awarding degrees validated by partner UK universities and recognized by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities.

In December 2022, the esteemed cardiologist Sir Magdi Yacoub was appointed as the first honorary chancellor of BUE, reflecting the institution's dedication to excellence in education and research.
Applicants must have: English Language or English Literature Chemistry Physics Mathematics Advanced Mathematics OR SAT II OR its equivalent of ACT II & EST II (with a minimum score of 900 if choosing SAT II or its equivalents. Acceptable subjects for SAT II equivalents include Mathematics and any one of Biology, Chemistry, or Physics). Four other approved subjects.
