Degree Overview:

The Specialization in Multimedia and Audiovisual Communication aims to equip professionals with the academic knowledge and skills to utilize new technologies effectively in audiovisual and multimedia processes. The program addresses the growing need for professionals capable of applying technological advancements in these fields. It seeks to instill in professionals the necessary knowledge to successfully handle all aspects of audiovisual and multimedia production.


Objectives:

  • General Objective: To train professionals skilled in the design, management, and production control of image and sound, encompassing planning, implementation, and operation in various production processes, including development and editing stages of video projects.
  • Specific Objectives:
  • To develop basic communication skills for designing, managing, and developing communication projects.
  • To provide updated concepts in various audiovisual specialties, preparing professionals for employment in agencies, newspapers, radio, television, and the internet.

Program Description:

The specialization is designed for graduates in Communication Sciences, Audiovisual Communication, associate degree graduates seeking specialization, and non-university individuals wishing to specialize in the audiovisual field. Upon successful completion, students receive a Specialization in Multimedia and Audiovisual Communication degree awarded by the enrolling university.


Outline:

The program consists of 41 credits distributed across two parts:


Part 1: Subjects (31 credits):

This part provides theoretical, conceptual, and historical foundations of audiovisual production, along with organizational, social, and technological implementation aspects. The goal is to offer a comprehensive overview of the audiovisual field through multidisciplinary topics. The subjects are structured sequentially, progressing from simple to complex concepts. Each subject is divided into units or chapters with printed materials for study.

  • Subject 1: Design and Organization of Audiovisual Production (4 credits)
  • Subject 2: Audiovisual and Multimedia Script (4 credits)
  • Subject 3: Audiovisual Language and Narrative (4 credits)
  • Subject 4: Sound Collection, Recording and Post Production (4 credits)
  • Subject 5: Lighting Techniques (Photo, Video and Film) (4 credits)
  • Subject 6: Director of Photography (4 credits)
  • Subject 7: Techniques and tools for creating multimedia products (4 credits)
  • Subject 8: Audiovisual Production Techniques (3 credits)

Part 2: Final Master Project (10 credits):

This part involves developing a final project that demonstrates the full development of a proposed project, from initial idea to audiovisual support media. The project should encompass the various fields studied in the program.


Program Duration:

The program's duration is 9-12 months, depending on the student's dedication. Completion requires successful completion of all evaluated activities and the final project (if applicable).
