Program Overview


The Master in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in Acupuncture and/or Phytotherapy Chinese Tradition is a blended learning program that combines online resources with workshops and classroom practice. It provides advanced knowledge in Naturopathic and traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture and/or traditional Chinese herbs. Graduates receive a Master's Degree and may choose to complete a Final Project or an internship at a TCM hospital in China or Cuba.

Degree Overview:

The Master in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in Acupuncture and/or Phytotherapy Chinese Tradition is a blended learning program developed in collaboration with the European Foundation for TCM. It's based on online resources developed under the supervision of TCM Universities of Beijing and Yunnan, and includes workshops and classroom practice in approved institutions across various countries. The program aims to provide advanced knowledge in Naturopathic and traditional Chinese Medicine, facilitating updated knowledge through new technologies. Specific objectives include training specialists in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in acupuncture and/or traditional Chinese herbs; providing students with practical skills in acupuncture and/or traditional Chinese herbal medicine; and ensuring complete theoretical and applied training (workshops, practice, internship in TCM university hospitals of the People's Republic of China, etc.). The program is designed for Certified/Graduates in Health Sciences who wish to further their knowledge in disease prevention, apply Biological-Naturopathic Medicine practices, develop a more holistic view of disease, and expand their professional tools. Students without a university degree in health sciences must complete a preparatory module. Upon successful completion, students receive a Master in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in Acupuncture and/or Phytotherapy Chinese Tradition degree from the enrolling university. The final part of the program offers a choice between a Final Project or an internship at a TCM hospital in China or Cuba (the internship incurs additional travel and lodging expenses).


Outline:

The program is structured into four parts:

  • 1st Part: Introductory (80 hours): Fundamentals of Biological-Naturopathic Medicine.
  • This includes:
  • History of Biological-Naturopathic Medicine (30 hours)
  • History and Philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (20 hours)
  • Nutrition (20 hours)
  • Phytotherapy (10 hours)
  • 2nd Part: Mandatory (320 hours): Fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
  • This includes:
  • Basic Theory (Part I) (70 hours)
  • Basic Theory (Part II) (70 hours)
  • Diagnostic (70 hours)
  • Syndrome Differentiation (70 hours)
  • TCM Therapeutics (20 hours)
  • Auriculotherapy (20 hours)
  • Workshops and clinical practice are conducted at Guang an Men clinics in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and other participating centers.
  • 3rd Part: Optional (450 hours): Students choose one of two programs:

  • Pharmacopeia 2 (70 hours)
  • Prescription (100 hours)
  • Phytotherapeutic Treatment (MI) (70 hours)
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine Dietetics (50 hours)
  • Practices (90 hours)
  • 4th Part: Research Methods and Final Project or Internship in a Hospital of the People’s Republic of China or Cuba (150 hours): Students choose between:
  • Option 1: Research Methods and Final Project (150 hours):

  • Final Project (100 hours)
  • Option 2: Hospital Internship (150 hours):

  • The duration varies between 12 and 24 months depending on student dedication.

The program uses a blended learning approach, combining online resources with workshops and classroom practice. The online resources are developed under the supervision of TCM Universities in Beijing and Yunnan. The program's academic administration is led by Dr. Carlos Llopis Martínez, and the general academic coordination is handled by Vânia Alexandre.
