The Environmental Education program aims to equip teachers with the skills to integrate environmental content into basic education and contribute to the holistic development of individuals. The program focuses on four key areas: conceptual and philosophical foundations, environmental education for sustainability, environmental management towards sustainable development, and national and local experiences. Successful completion leads to the "Experto Universitario en EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL" degree, awarded by the enrolling university. The program's general objective is to incorporate an environmental dimension into educational programs. Specific objectives include planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating environmental education projects; reflecting on the importance of environmental education in sustainable development; developing critical thinking for local and global action; working with appropriate concepts, methods, and techniques; understanding the role of environmental education in participatory environmental management; and learning to create eco-friendly curricula.
Outline:
The Environmental Education program consists of 20 credits and takes 6-9 months to complete, depending on the student's dedication. It comprises a module with five subjects, structured to progress from simpler to more complex concepts. The subjects are independent but follow a coherent sequence. Each subject is divided into thematic units or chapters with accompanying printed materials for study.
