Program Overview
The Award in Fundamentals of Management Accounting from CMBS equips learners with core principles and techniques in cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Through exams, projects, and reflective journals, students gain insights into cost management, decision-making, and career opportunities in the finance industry, including management accounting, financial analysis, and cost accounting. The program is offered in a two-month format, starting in May 2024.

The Award in Fundamentals of Management Accounting provides learners with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and techniques of management accounting. Objectives:
Learners will gain the ability to:
- Apply cost accounting techniques to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Create traditional and flexible budgets and correlate them with their behavioral implications.
- Measure and calculate costs across various elements, types, and behaviors.
- Apply cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis to conduct break-even analysis in business.
- Develop forecasts and budgets to strategise and oversee cost management and contribution.
Assessment:
The Award in Fundamentals of Management Accounting is assessed through a combination of:
- Individual Project: A practical project that allows learners to apply their knowledge and skills to a real-world scenario.
- Reflective Journal: A journal where learners reflect on their learning journey and demonstrate their understanding of the program's concepts.
