The Award in Employment Law equips learners with knowledge and understanding of various laws, regulations, ethical standards, and legal principles governing employment, including the dynamics between employers and employees. It covers topics such as human rights, employer rights, employee rights, employment contracts, legal obligations during employment, and termination procedures.
Objectives:
Learners will gain the ability to:
- Critically identify, evaluate, and examine various local, European, and international legislations governing employment.
- Reflect on the ethical and legal considerations required when designing a job, including selection criteria and additional organizational requirements such as drug tests and interview questions.
- Examine and evaluate various types of employment contracts, including full-time, part-time, and others.
- Critically assess and analyze the repercussions of failing to comply with employment laws and regulations in human resources.
- Understand terms of employment contracts and worker repercussions for contract violations.
- Reflect on workplace equal opportunity importance and relevant laws.

The Award in Employment Law is assessed through an assignment.
