This Award in Coaching and Mentoring is designed to equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to effectively work towards becoming a coach or mentor. The program focuses on understanding the role of a mentor or coach in the workplace and developing practical skills for effective coaching and mentoring.

Objectives:

Learners will gain the ability to:

• Critically assess and analyze the concept of 'Coaching' and discuss the role of a manager as a coach.
• Examine the links between change and coaching.
• Reflect on the benefits of effective goal setting.
• Demonstrate critical understanding of the role of coaching in relation to performance enhancement, employee motivation, and team development.
• Critically assess and analyze the challenges and benefits of coaching and mentoring.
• Critically reflect on the qualities of a good leader and the challenges they face.

Assessment:

The award is assessed through a single assignment.

• Delivery: Face-to-face and work-based learning.
