Program Outline
Other:
The ILC Intensive Course consists of 30 lessons. 20 of these lessons follow the same programme as the Main Course. The other 10 are taught in the afternoon in a Communications Skills module. These extra afternoon lessons build vocabulary and skills to help students communicate at lower language levels (A0-A2). At higher levels, (B1-C1), the focus is on communicating effectively in a variety of contexts. At lower levels, it helps students to speed up their improvement so they can become more fluent and be better at speaking, listening, reading and writing. At higher levels, it provides opportunities for those who want to speak fluently on many topics to practise this in a supportive and interesting environment. Walhampton lies in beautiful ancient woodland on the edge of the New Forest, near Lymington in Hampshire. It is a private day and boarding school for boys and girls. The School is set in 100 acres of lawns, lakes and woodland by the sea. The school has a full campus with a Boarding House upstairs in the main building. There are dormitories for the Juniors to sleep ranging from 3-6 beds in size. Boys and girls are housed in separate sections of the building and there are well equipped common rooms for relaxation after the day’s studies and activities are finished. The school has an outdoor swimming pool, as well as tennis courts, football pitches and a hall for indoor games. All of this is in a country setting with trees to the front of the school and beautiful views across the field towards the Solent sea crossing to the Isle of Wight. Students will enjoy staying in Walhampton School’s modern, shared dormitory rooms with shared bathrooms. All accommodation is on the school’s beautiful grounds and close to the classrooms and leisure facilities. Boys and girls are housed in separate sections of the building and there are well equipped common rooms for relaxation after the day’s studies and activities are finished. In their bedroom, students will have a single bed and storage space for their belongings. All students will have access to free Wi-Fi from their rooms and a common area with TV and games.
