The PhD programme in Preservation of the Architectural Heritage focuses on defining high-level skills and knowledge in the field of cultural heritage concerning both the safeguarding and intervention processes.
Objectives:
- To provide graduates with high-level skills in the field of heritage protection and intervention for the built environment, including monumental architecture, widespread construction, urban and territorial contexts, from the oldest testimonies to modern and contemporary architecture.
- To convey adequate knowledge, starting from multidisciplinary research preliminary to the project, from the methodology of historical research, to the archaeology of architecture, to the contribution of applied sciences, up to intervention choices, control of institutional aspects and maintenance practices.
- To provide the necessary knowledge to outline the strategies, frameworks, and programs specific to conservation at different scales, and to evaluate the results of interventions, also verifying their effects over time.
