Admission Requirements

Age: Be not less than 18 years of age.
Education: Have completed a secondary school "scientific department", any equivalent Foreign education, graduates from maritime secondary school (Seamanship and fishery department) or holding a diploma in river transport.
Medical Fitness: Meet the medical fitness requirements for the certificate.
Seagoing Service: Shall fulfill the requirements of one of the following streams:
1st stream:
2nd stream:
Have completed a basic study program of at least 2 years in the recognized maritime institution.
Have an approved seagoing service of not less than 12 months following Guided/planned Sea training program in the capacity of deck cadet on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more on ocean going voyages.
During the required seagoing service, bridge watchkeeping duties under the supervision of the master or a qualified officer for a period of not less than six months.
Have completed the required upgrading training course in the recognized maritime institution.
3rd stream:
Have Completed study program of at least 4 years in the recognized maritime institution, which includes the required upgrading training course and an approved seagoing service of not less than 12 months following Guided/planned Sea training program in the capacity of deck cadet on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more on ocean going voyages.
During the required seagoing service, bridge watchkeeping duties under the supervision of the master or a qualified officer for a period of not less than six months.
