Program Overview


The Master's Degree in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) (Academic Track) provides graduates from English departments with advanced research skills, proficiency in language teaching, and expertise in ESP theories and practices. The program prepares students for careers in teaching ESP, curriculum design, materials development, testing, and research in English language education. Over six semesters, students complete 36 credit hours in courses covering sociocultural contexts of language, language learning theories, language variation, ESP methodologies, and research methods.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in English/Linguistics with a general grade of "Good" or equivalent GPA.
  • In case the candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in English/Linguistics with a general grade of "Pass", he/she must complete either a diploma of Applied Linguistics or a diploma of Education with a general grade of “Good”.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • A proof of the required English proficiency level:
  • a total score of 6.5 (B2) in the academic IELTS with a sub score of not less than 6 for writing and not less than 5.5 in each section;
  • or an equivalent score of 550 (B2) on the Institutional TOFEL test with a score of 4.5 on the Writing test (TWE);
  • or an equivalent score of 79 (B2) on the iBT TOFEL with a sub score of not less than 24 in writing
  • or submitting an official proof of scoring a B2 level in any other equivalent internationally recognized exam.
