Program Overview
The ProfDip Employment Law is a graduate-level program that delves into the legal framework governing employment relationships in Ireland. Degree Overview:
The ProfDip Employment Law is a graduate-level program (level 9 NQF, 20 credits) that focuses on the legal framework governing employment relationships in Ireland. The program emphasizes the significant role of legislation, particularly EU law, in shaping the employment relationship. It covers a wide range of topics, from the formation of the employment contract to its termination.
Teaching:
The program is delivered through lectures, primarily in person, over the course of the Spring Trimester (January-April). Lectures are held once a week. The program commences on the week of January 23rd, 2023.

The program is designed to enhance the career prospects of individuals working in various legal and employment-related fields. The program is particularly relevant for:
- Practising barristers or solicitors
- Barristers or solicitors actively engaged in legally connected employment
- Graduates holding an approved university degree or law-based interdisciplinary university degree
- Persons with other academic and/or professional qualifications and/or such experiences as would satisfy the School that they are able to participate on this course, such as trade union officials and HR/IR practitioners. UCD has a dedicated Careers Development Centre that provides resources and support for students seeking employment or further studies. The School of Law has a dedicated careers advisor and a staff member from the Careers Office attends the School on several occasions throughout the academic year.

The program is a part-time option suitable for domestic (EEA) applicants. International (non-EEA) applicants currently residing outside the EEA region are not eligible to apply.
