Degree Overview:
The Professional Certificate in Holocaust Studies is a graduate-level program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Holocaust. It aims to equip students with the latest scholarship on the Holocaust and provide teachers with the necessary tools and experiences to enhance their teaching about the Holocaust in the classroom. The program is supported by the Holocaust Education Trust Ireland (HETI) and features instruction from UCD's world-renowned experts.
Objectives:
- To introduce students to the most recent scholarly debates about the origins, course, and legacies of the Holocaust.
- To provide students with the knowledge and skills to teach about the Holocaust effectively.
Teaching:
- The program features instruction from UCD's world-renowned experts.
- Students will have access to UCD Library resources, including e-books and e-journals.
Other:
- The program is a part-time option suitable for both domestic (EEA) and international (non-EEA) applicants.
- The entry requirement is an undergraduate degree in History or a cognate subject, with a minimum GPA of 3.08 and experience of teaching history at secondary level.
- Students will pay €1,295 to Holocaust Education Ireland to cover the cost of the two study trips.
