It includes simulation sessions in a specialist suite and is assessed through scenario creation, a reflective portfolio, and an essay. The module is led by an Academic General Practitioner with expertise in medical education.

Program Outline


Degree Overview:

This module forms one part of the Post Graduate Certificate in Multidisciplinary Healthcare Simulation. The aims of this module are:

  • Knowledge of the available technologies and how to ‘drive’ the technology.
  • It also covers the principles of debriefing a simulation scenario.
  • Structure: The module is delivered over 3 full days in 2 blocks of teaching (1+2 days) with a 3 week break between blocks.
  • The break in teaching allows time for reflection and preparation of simulation scenarios in advance of the simulation sessions held in the specialist simulation suite.
  • Individual Modules: This module is a standalone module within the Post Graduate Certificate in Multidisciplinary Healthcare Simulation.

Assessment:

Methods of assessment comprise:

  • Creation and application of 3 simulation scenarios
  • A reflective portfolio
  • A 3000 word evidence-based essay
