Program Overview
Students can specialize in areas like biomaterials, tissue engineering, and medical devices, or pursue research in collaboration with faculty members. The program emphasizes a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment and offers the opportunity for collaboration with UMass Chan Medical School. It is GRE-optional, allowing students to apply without submitting GRE scores.
Program Outline
Students can specialize in areas like biomaterials, tissue engineering, orthopedics, medical devices, molecular therapies, bioinstrumentation, cardiovascular, biosensors, and ergonomics/human factors engineering. Alternatively, they can pursue research in an area of mutual interest with a faculty member.
Teaching:
The program emphasizes a collaborative, diverse, and interdisciplinary environment. Students work with faculty to acquire expertise in designing, synthesizing, characterizing, modeling, and integrating materials and materials systems. The program is GRE optional, meaning students can submit GRE scores if they wish, but it is not required for application.
