The PhD in Environmental Health Sciences is a 51-credit program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to understand the complex relationship between environmental exposures and human health outcomes. The program emphasizes the development of highly specialized and applied research skills, preparing graduates for careers in academia, health and health-related regulatory agencies, and private industry with a research focus. The program is designed to be completed in four to six academic years (typically five).
Teaching:
The program features a combination of coursework and research. Students complete foundational coursework in environmental health sciences, with the opportunity to select additional courses in their areas of interest. Faculty work one-on-one with doctoral students to help them select courses that fit their unique interests, including coursework in other academic units throughout the university.
