Program Overview
This honors calculus course, exclusive to Commonwealth Honors College first-year students, delves deeply into the subject matter, exploring the underlying theory, diverse applications, and historical perspectives. Active student participation is highly encouraged, and successful completion satisfies the R1 general education requirement due to the foundational math skills acquired throughout the course. The course spans from September 3 to December 10, 2024, meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:15 PM in Goessmann Lab Addition room 151, under the guidance of Professor Maria Correia.

- Course Content: This 4-credit course will cover the standard subject matter, as given in the course syllabus: The definite integral, techniques of integration, and applications to physics, chemistry, and engineering. Sequences, series, and power series. Taylor and MacLaurin series.
- Course Structure: The honors course will cover this material in greater depth. This means that there will be some emphasis on the underlying theory, that more applications will be included, and that some attention will be paid to history. Active student participation will be encouraged.
