Degree Overview:

Our Doctor of Physiotherapy is a three-year course which will provide you with clinical education and research training across core areas of physiotherapy practice.


Objectives:

The course is designed for students who wish to become physiotherapy professionals working in variety of settings, including clinical and academic settings.


Program Description:

You will gain real-world, hands-on training through work-integrated learning within our extensive network of health partners. The course emphasizes a patient-centred and evidence-based approach to physiotherapy and healthcare, equipping you with the skills to practice in a variety of healthcare settings. You will also undertake clinical placements at urban public and private clinics and rural health settings as they provide supervised patient care. Work-integrated learning embedded in your three-year program will provide the opportunity for you to apply your knowledge and gain significant practical experience in a range of health and clinical areas including, but not limited to, rehabilitation, acute care, ambulatory care/outpatients and community/general care.

Physiotherapists take on different responsibilities such as direct client care, education, research, management advisory, regulatory or policy development roles. They work in many places, including:

Other:

This course has received conditional accreditation with the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC). Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as physiotherapists with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (PBA), overseen by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
