The Master of Exercise Physiology degree equips students with the knowledge and practical skills to assess and design exercise programs for individuals with various medical conditions or injuries. What you’ll study:
The Master of Exercise Physiology is a postgraduate coursework degree that will provide you with the knowledge, competencies and clinical experience required to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.
- You will complete core units, one selective unit, and a capstone project unit in your final semester, which cover the areas of clinical exercise physiology practice including cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory / pulmonary and mental health, and any other conditions for which there is evidence that exercise can improve clinical status. This includes clinical placements across the public and private sectors.

Professional practice:
- A number of clinical and professional fieldwork opportunities are scheduled as part of the course.
- Fieldwork provides hands-on experience with real clients in a supervised environment allowing students to combine academic study with the practical abilities required of the exercise physiology profession.
- This mandatory work component must be completed as part of the award requirements for the course.
- Mandatory work hours: 38 hours per week over 18 weeks, totaling 684 hours.
- You'll gain real-world, hands-on training through clinical placements within our extensive network of clinical partners.
- You'll learn from highly respected practitioners, clinicians and researchers, who are at the forefront advancing health sciences.

- Professional accreditation: This course has full accreditation status at the level of Exercise Physiology from Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
