This metabolic health program allows you to gain a qualification in a rapidly evolving and important area of clinical practice. It is suitable for all medical practitioners including those working in primary care, emergency medicine, surgery and those interested in endocrinology and general medicine.


Outline:

You will complete 48 credit points of units of study including:

  • 12 credit points of compulsory units of study
  • 24 credit points of stream specific units of study
  • 12 credit points of stream specific or general elective units of study.

Careers:

This course provides advanced postgraduate training for clinicians wishing to understand and manage diabetes, obesity and associated cardiovascular complications in the general population as well as high risk sub-groups. Students who have completed the compulsory research unit and achieved an average of at least 75% in 24 credit points of compulsory and/or stream specific units of study are eligible to apply to transfer to the Master of Medicine (Advanced) (Metabolic Health).
