Our degree courses with Foundation year offer the opportunity to prepare you for advanced study before you progress onto a full honours degree at the University of Westminster.
Course Summary
The Foundation year is designed to give you the opportunity to explore new ideas, opening up new perspectives on the key debates within your chosen field. Core modules accelerate your academic and professional development and you will also take modules from areas closely related to your chosen field, giving you the chance to develop a cross-disciplinary perspective on your course.
On successful completion of the Foundation year, you will be able to move on to study for the Arabic and International Communication BA Honours degree.

Professional Experience or Study Abroad Year
Between Years 2 and 3, you’ll have the opportunity to undertake a professional placement year in industry. Completing the placement year will lead to the final award Bachelor of Arts with Honours – Arabic and Global Communication with Professional Experience.
Alternatively, you can undertake a period of study abroad at one of Westminster’s partner institutions. Successful completion will lead to the final award Bachelor of Arts with Honours – Arabic and Global Communication with International Experience.

- We work in partnership with Kaplan International College London who provide International Foundation Certificate courses for students who don’t meet our entry requirements. English Language Requirements
- If your first language is not English, you will need an IELTS of 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in each component. Please note we accept a wide range of English language qualifications and assessments. Find out more at English language requirements.
- We are ideally looking for evidence of successful language learning, formal or informal, in the applicant’s personal statement, but please note that these courses are designed for students only at Beginners or False Beginners level in Arabic and we may need to test you to determine your language level.

Fees and Funding

- UK tuition fee: £5,760 (Price for Foundation year only)
- The course fee applies to the Foundation year of your degree programme. When you progress from the Foundation year (level 3) to the degree (level 4), the fees will increase to match our standard degree-level fees for level 4 onwards.
- Please note that if you defer your place, the first year’s tuition fees will be those of the academic year in which you enrol, which may be higher than the fee shown for this year.

- EU Qualifications Welcome Award Scheme
- If you are an international student accepted on an undergraduate programme starting in September 2024 or September 2025 at level 3 (Foundation) or level 4 (first year) on the basis of an eligible EU qualification only, you will be awarded a tuition fee reduction which will align your fee more closely to the one for UK students. Course Location
Our Regent Campus is comprised of two sites, situated on and around Regent Street – one of the most famous and vibrant streets in London.
Subjects including Criminology and Sociology, English and Creative Writing, History, Languages, Politics and International Relations and Visual Culture are based at 309 Regent Street, which includes recently refurbished social spaces, gym facilities and our Regent Street Cinema.

Program Outline
Degree Overview:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the design process and operation of aircraft within the Earth's atmosphere and in space. Develop your understanding of flight vehicle design, knowledge of aerodynamics and propulsion systems, structural design, materials, avionics, and stability control systems.
Outline:
The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Aeronautical Engineering) is an undergraduate coursework program that will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of the design process and operation of aircraft within the Earth's atmosphere and in space. You will complete degree foundational core units in mathematics and computing, along with a suite of multidisciplinary project units. You will also complete stream core and specialist elective units in aeronautical engineering, and can choose to complete an optional specialisation. Additionally, you will complete elective units as needed to make up the requirements of the course from either the Engineering disciplinary pool or the shared pool. In your final year, you will complete an honours thesis in aeronautical engineering. Throughout your degree, you will undertake professional engagement activities as part of the Professional Engagement Program, including engineering work experience in the final year.

This course is accredited by Engineers Australia. Our award-winning Professional Engagement Program (PEP) is designed to allow students to contextualise their learning, enhance their own professional development, and build the foundations of a strong professional engineering career. It consists of two main components; a series of zero credit point units of study completed each semester and 600 hours of professional engagement integrated continuously throughout the degree. The required professional engagement is flexible in nature and can be customised to a stream or area of interest, however the below minimum requirements must be met within the total: a minimum of 70 hours of non-engineering focused activities (volunteering, casual or part-time work, employment skills, mentoring and/or development of transferable skills) a minimum of 200 hours of engineering focused activities (industry projects, site visits, guest lectures, interviews, seminars, conferences and/or research) a minimum of 200 hours of engineering work experience in industry (typically in the final year).
