Program Overview
The Diploma of Language Studies enhances undergraduate studies by offering language learning or enrichment at various levels. Students can pursue a language major, minor, or electives in 15 languages. While cultural electives can be completed in a year, language majors may require two years due to unit availability. Graduates develop language proficiency and cultural competence, increasing their career opportunities in communications, education, and international sectors.

This course is ideal for students who want to learn a new language or improve their existing foreign language skills. The Faculty offers classes at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Outline:
You will complete the diploma in one of three ways by undertaking:
- a language major
- a language minor with additional language elective units taken from any of the language subject areas
- language elective units only taken from any of the language subject areas.
Impact on duration:
- If you choose to only complete cultural units of study or electives, then the course can be completed in one year full-time.
