Graduate Certificate in Heritage Conservation
Program Overview
The University of Sydney's Heritage Conservation program trains students to understand the social and economic value of historic sites and to determine what should be preserved. Graduates are prepared for careers in conservation specialist, heritage consultancy, and policy development. The program includes coursework in the history, theory, law, and policy of heritage conservation, as well as hands-on experience in the use of new and old materials, alteration design, and additions and modifications to existing buildings.

This program will introduce you to methods and practices of conservation, designing and building new buildings in old settings, and the history, theory, law and policy of this unique area. You will be educated in the use of new and old material, alteration design, additions and modifications to existing buildings, and the sustainable, ethical and equitable development of sites in light of its past uses.
