Our Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Science (Infection and Immunity) is designed to meet the rapidly growing demand in research and the biomedical industry for graduates who are trained in state-of-the-art clinical laboratory techniques.
Objectives:
Graduates of our Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Science (Infection and Immunity) will be:
- well versed in the research literature and laboratory techniques related to the containment, diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease
- able to reflect critically and incorporate knowledge and skills into their practice or research
- able to adopt an evidence-based approach in clinical and research laboratories, and in non-clinical settings.
Outline:
In the Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Science (Infection and Immunity) you’ll study 36 credit points, including:
- 2 x 6 credit point core units in Clinical Laboratory Science and Principles in Immunology.
- 24 credit points of stream selective units spanning Virology, Bacteriology, Clinical Immunology and Immunotherapy; or
- 1 x 6 credit points of an elective unit of study.
Teaching:
- You will study the latest techniques, developments and breakthroughs in immunology and its application to the diagnosis and treatment of clinically relevant pathogens.
