The Japanese Studies major focuses on intercultural language learning, exploring the connection between language and culture. Students study Japanese language, manga/anime, literature, culture, and history. Japan is one of the world’s most industrialised countries with an important diplomatic presence, and is one of Australia’s largest trading partners.

Other:

• The Japanese Studies major emphasises intercultural language learning, where you’ll explore and understand the relationship between language and culture.
• You’ll study the Japanese language, Japanese manga/anime, literature, culture and history.
• You’ll have the opportunity to attend translation and interpreting workshops.
• Units are available from beginner to advanced level.
