  • Anthropology is the comparative study of societies and human diversity.
  • It asks questions about the behavior, meaning, and value between different societies and cultures.
  • Anthropologists focus on groups within society that follow a distinct way of life, such as workers on the shop floor of a factory, people who live by hunting and gathering in the Amazon, corporate managers, Indigenous Australian artists, fans of Harry Potter books, opium growers in South-East Asia, or members of a religious group.
  • In the Anthropology major, you'll learn to differentiate between disciplinary approaches, concepts, and methods in the study of the humanities; as well as how to recognize and advocate for the role of the humanities in society.
  • You'll also have the opportunity to choose from a range of electives in areas such as cultural heritage, public history, public relations and social media, and psychological science.
