The Bachelor of Philosophy/Master of Research in Arts offers a unique combination of advanced coursework and research training. The first year consists of advanced undergraduate study exploring cutting-edge research in your discipline. The second year is a master-level postgraduate research training program. You’ll specialize in research preparation and focus on a specific research topic at the sub-discipline level to deliver a thesis (up to 20,000 words). This research training pathway is consistent with international pathways and, if you aspire to, you’ll be well-equipped to complete a PhD in three years, well short of the national average. The learning outcomes of the Bachelor of Philosophy/Master of Research also provide a strong background for a number of employment opportunities. The degree can be completed in two years full-time or equivalent part-time.
