Macquarie's Bachelor of Ancient History and Bachelor of Social Science is a double degree program that allows students to immerse themselves in the culture and languages of the ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern worlds, while also gaining insights into the science of people, places, and social problems. The program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to make valuable contributions to some of the world's biggest issues.
Outline:
The Bachelor of Ancient History component of the program covers a wide range of topics, including ancient Egypt and the Near East, classical Greece and Rome, and late Roman and early Byzantine history. Students can choose to minor in Ancient Greek, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, or Latin, or study Ancient Hebrew and/or Coptic. The Bachelor of Social Science component of the program provides students with a strong foundation in social research design, methods, practice, and application.
