If you are interested in managing major property investments while working with large financial institutions and high profile clients, then BSc Real Estate Finance is the degree for you. Real Estate and Planning at the University of Reading ranks 1st in the UK for 'Land and Property Management' (Complete University Guide, 2024). During this degree you will compare property to other forms of investment, developing strong financial expertise that will enable you to work not only in the property sector but also in wider financial roles. Our staff are world leaders in their fields and you can expect to be taught by internationally renowned experts, with a wealth of academic and professional experience. The programme matches the BSc Real Estate course for the first two years in order to build your foundation knowledge. In the final year your modules focus on investment and finance subjects and address both the theoretical and practical aspects of real estate markets. You will undertake a number of applied investment and finance projects to develop analytical and key employment skills. This programme has full accreditation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Many are actively involved with the department as mentors for our current students, hosting site visits or coming to the University as guest lecturers. You will receive one-to-one industry mentoring, providing real insight into the profession. We also host an annual Real Estate and Planning Careers Fair and an evening lecture series.
