Multidisciplinary Obstetric Midwifery and Anaesthetic Simulation

Program Overview

This program is suitable for healthcare professionals such as midwives, obstetricians, and anesthesiologists. It offers a systematic approach to obstetric critical incidents through simulated scenarios, skills workshops, and clinical management reviews. MOMAS is facilitated by experienced professionals from Mid Essex Hospital Services and Southend University Hospital and is approved by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for CPD credits.

• simulated scenarios from the delivery room to the operating theatre
• 'Skills and drills' workshop sessions on obstetric and anaesthetic emergencies
• review of clinical management as per national and local guidelines
• structured debrief and feedback on both clinical and human factor aspects.
• MOMAS is facilitated by senior midwives, consultant obstetricians, senior ODPs and consultant anaesthetists from Mid Essex Hospital Services, NHS Trust and Southend University Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust.
